Cost-Effective Wavefront Sensor

Entry-level sensor with high accuracy.

HASO4 First is a cost-effective, high-precision wavefront sensor for a wide range of wavelengths (350 – 1100 nm), ideal for microscopy, metrology, or high-power laser optimisation.

HASO4 First Cost-Effective Wavefront Sensor

The HASO4 First is a Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor optimized for single-wavelength operation within the 350–1100 nm range. It offers absolute wavefront measurement accuracy of approximately λ/100 RMS and repeatability better than λ/200 RMS. With a spatial sampling of ~100 µm and a dynamic range for local radius of curvature from ±0.008 m to infinity, it provides precise measurements for various optical applications. The sensor features a 44 x 36 microlens array over a 4.5 x 3.7 mm² aperture, enabling detailed wavefront analysis. Its compact design (42 x 47 x 60 mm) and lightweight (200 g) make it suitable for integration into diverse setups.

High-Speed Acquisition and Versatile Integration

Equipped with USB 3.0 connectivity, the HASO4 First achieves acquisition rates up to 125 Hz, facilitating real-time wavefront analysis. An optional GigE converter is available for alternative interfacing needs. The sensor operates effectively within a temperature range of 15–30°C and consumes 3.1 W of power. Its compatibility with Windows 10 and 11 ensures seamless integration into modern laboratory environments. The device also supports external TTL triggering, enhancing its adaptability in synchronized measurement systems.

Benefits

  • Affordable Precision: High-accuracy wavefront measurements at an entry-level price
  • Compact and Lightweight: With a small footprint (42 x 47 x 60 mm) and only 200 g, it integrates easily into space-constrained setups or mobile optical systems.
  • Fast Real-Time Analysis: USB 3.0 interface supports up to 125 Hz acquisition speed, enabling quick and reliable real-time feedback for wavefront characterisation.

Features

  • Beam collimation with accuracy of better than 200 m radius of curvature
  • 20 mm focal length measurement with sensitivity of 1 μm rms
  • Direct wavefront acquisition of F/5 beams with λ/100 accuracy, including astigmatism and high-order aberrations
  • Control and adjustment of axial laser beam deviation better than 5 μrad rms
  • 3D localization of focal spot with 0.1μm rms for lateral and 1 μm rms for axial resolution (0.1 NA beam).
