NORIA: A tool used to inscribe fibre Bragg gratings (FBGs) in optical fibres. It contains everything required for this purpose.
NORIA is a "plug&play" system used in the manufacture of fibre Bragg gratings (FBGs). A deep-UV laser in combination with different phase masks allows the inscription of grating structures in photosensitive fibres. To produce differently spaced gratings, up to sixteen various phase masks can be deposited in a revolver-like holder.
The inscription of the gratings is carried out automatically using predefined configurations and settings. In addition, with the help of integrated precision shifting, fibre arrays can be produced with arbitrary spacing along the fibre.
NORIA dramatically simplifies the reproducible production of FBGs. Both uniform and apodized gratings can be produced; the illumination profile can either have a Gaussian shape or be equally distributed.
