Compensating the Inherent Drift
Modulator bias controllers (MBC) are designed to compensate for the inherent drift of Mach-Zehnder modulators due to aging and environmental variations such as temperature and pressure. The MBCs lock the operating point of the intensity modulators in order to keep systems and lab set-ups at their optimum performance.
We supply different modulator bias controllers depending on requirements, namely

- MBC-DG-LAB
- MBC-IQ-LAB
These benefit from an auto-set operation for the Min, Max, Quad ± modes resulting in a simplified use. The unit has a compact and professionally engineered package.
