Stable in reflection and transmission at variable polarization
The reflection and transmission of polarization-independent beam splitters remain stable even if the polarization of the beam changes during use. Thanks to a special coating, an identical degree of reflection is achieved regardless of the direction of polarization (s-pol and p-pol). These beam splitters are used when the polarization of the light changes or when the same reflection is required for both polarization states.
The use special processes ensures differences in the reflectance of less than 1% between p- and s-polarized light. The most common case is Rs = Rp = 50%.
LASER COMPONENTS manufactures polarization-independent beam splitters in the wavelength range from 248 nm to 3000 nm. The design is optimized for one wavelength and one angle of incidence. It is also possible to achieve combinations of wavelengths and reflections of 0.5 and 99.5%. The AR coating on the back is also optimized for s- and p-polarization.
