New 28 Gbaud PAM-4 Reference Transmitters

LASER COMPONENTS introduces the new 28 Gbaud PAM-4 reference transmitters from iXblue. These ModBoxes are a turn-key reference transmitter for optical telecommunication laboratories and production test beds for 4-level Pulse Amplitude ­Modulation (PAM4). They provide clean, high quality, ­robust, eye diagrams with low jitter and fast rise/fall times. The PAM-4 ModBoxes are available at 850 nm, O-band (CWDM) and C-band operation and can integrate a high grade CW laser to provide more than 5 dBm of modulated optical output signal.

The ModBox also provides vertical eye closure capability with the VER (Variable Extinction Ratio) option.

iXblue also offers reference transmitters for other modulation formats, including NRZ, DPSK, QPSK and QAM, in the O-band, C-band, and 850 nm region.
