The perfect roundness of pipes and pipelines must meet very strict industry standards due to high safety requirements. The new pipe inspection system GMS-I from MSG Maschinenbau measures the internal contour of the pipe using a freely suspended measuring lance equipped with a newly developed ring laser module, the FLEXPOINT® radial. This machine vision innovation enables corrections during the manufacturing process for the first time and significantly speeds up the measurement procedure.
