Diffractive Optical Elements (DOEs) for Medical Applications

For the typical wavelength range in the far IR (2.94 µm)

Diffractive optical elements made of sapphire were specifically developed for medical technology. Due to their material they are particularly suited for use in Er:YAG lasers at 2.94 µm.

In dermatological treatments, for example, multi-spot elements are used to mark dots within a homogeneous area. The light is separated into spots, the most common of which are the 1x7, 5x5, or 6x8 spot matrices.

The components are thin sapphire substrates. Their small dimensions enable the design of slim handpieces.

Comprehensive Selection of DOEs

We also offer a comprehensive selection of different DOEs made of sapphire. The following types of elements, all designed for high power levels, are available: homogenizers, beam samplers, top hat modules, and multi-spot elements.
