With Gentec-EO’s IS50A-1KW-RSI-INT-DO, you can measure variations in laser power about ten times faster than with a thermal detector. This gives you the ability to track the entire ramp-up process of high-power lasers and determine when the desired power is consistently available. The instrument is designed for a maximum average power density of up to 5 kW/cm2 and is suitable for measuring CW or pulsed sources up to 10 kHz.
This applies to laser powers of less than one milliwatt, as well as to large continuous wave lasers of 1 kW. In addition to the speed and signal quality of the Si detector, this instrument also offers the wide dynamic range of an integrating sphere. This design also brings another advantage: only 6% to 12% of the incident light is reflected back. Especially when measuring powerful laser sources, this device thus offers additional safety.
