A large proportion of IR applications today use the wavelength range between 3 µm and 5 µm to detect natural gas and combustion gases such as CO2 and CO. If the energy transition succeeds and mankind really starts to go without fossil fuels, the infrared community will have to look for new application fields beyond the 5 µm limit. One such application would be the more detailed characterisation of organic compounds..
LASER COMPONENTS has already taken this step and with the 55+ series has put together a bundle that is optimally adapted to suit these challenges: The core of this bundle is LASER COMPONENTS’ patented pyroelectric detectors with an integrated differential amplifier. They have a significantly better signal-to-noise ratio than comparable products, which is becoming increasingly important, especially at above 5 µm. The bundle also contains patented infrared emitters from our partner Infrasolid in Dresden. With slow modulations of 5 Hz, they deliver near-perfect efficiency in the wavelength range up to 15 µm. The package is completed by the appropriate filters for the wavelength of your application.
