The HiLASE Centre, a hi-tech laser research centre focused on the application of innovative laser technologies in industry, space and defence, is pleased to announce LASER COMPONENTS as the winner of the LIDT Challenge 2026.
The company's high-reflectivity (HR) coated mirror achieved the highest laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) of 17.5 J/cm², demonstrating outstanding resistance to high-energy laser radiation.
Organised by the HiLASE Centre, the LIDT Challenge 2026 brought together 14 manufacturers and suppliers of advanced optical components to evaluate their resistance to laser-induced damage under demanding testing conditions.
And the Winner Is... LASER COMPONENTS!
What makes us proud:
The fact that the optics we supplied remained undamaged even at an irradiation fluence of 17.5 J/cm² is the result of the continuous efforts of a dedicated team of experts at LASER COMPONENTS. This allows our customers to benefit from optics with proven high durability for the most demanding high-power laser applications, including in cutting-edge fields such as laser fusion.
