Our partner Holo/OR now also manufactures its diffractive optical elements (DOEs) on the quartz glass material Corning 7979, a highly efficient low-OH material that offers almost 100% transmission across a wide spectrum. Due to the low OH concentration in the material, the transmission is increased in the range from 1500 nm to 3000 nm. This also applies to the classical Er:YAG wavelength 2940 nm. In addition, the material is suitable for high-power applications with laser power in the multi-kW range. From a technical standpoint, all DOEs that have been manufactured on standard quartz glass to date can also be manufactured using this special glass.
Holo/OR can carry out production on large fused-silica wafers, which are then cut into smaller DOEs. This makes the components very attractive pricewise, and the elements continue to have the same optical and diffractive properties.
