The connector specialist Seikoh Giken has introduced the SFP-560A, a new polishing machine for fiber assemblies. This machine is particularly suitable for polishing MPO/MTP connectors; in fact, up to 24 MPO connectors can be processed simultaneously. Of course, this machine also polishes all single ferrule connectors to the highest quality.
Two features make this machine unique: With the help of dynamic pressure control, the polishing plate is slowly approached from below – and the pressure is automatically adjusted. In addition, independent pressure control (IPC) ensures that each connector is pressed individually to the polishing surface; this guarantees uniform polishing results. Furthermore, the SFP-560A is programmable for different connector types. Up to 60 processes can be stored, and a USB interface is available for data transfer.
This polishing machine is suitable for assembly shops and prototypes in telecom applications that produce patch cables. It can also be used in addition to/or to replace the predecessor model SFP-550 because all polishing plates of the old model can be reused in the new model.
