High Power Multimode Assemblies

Since 1995 we have been producing fiber assemblies for the transmission of high laser powers in Olching. Due to controlled clean room conditions, we can guarantee a high level of cleanliness at the fiber front. You have the choice between D80, SMA or DIN connectors as well as a large selection of protective jackets. On request, we can also provide your cables with Modestrip technology or an AR coating.

High Power SMA

For the transmission of high laser powers, we assemble silica fibers with D80, SMA or DIN connectors - optionally also with ModeStrip technology.

We have been manufacturing fiber assemblies in Olching since 1995 and have specialized in fibers for the transmission of high laser power. We can guarantee a high level of cleanliness of the fiber end surface through controlled cleanroom conditions.

Another special feature offered by LASER COMPONENTS is the fiber laser polishing technique developed in house. This considerably increases the efficiency of coupling power into the fiber.

Upon request, we can supply you with measurement reports for the fiber assemblies you order:

  • Measurement report for attenuation
  • Measured values for eccentricity
  • Photos of end surfaces

SMA fiber assemblies are particularly used in pump fibers for diode lasers. One important quality feature is the eccentricity of the fiber core to the outer diameter of the ferrule. The standard specification is <10 µm; however, upon request, we can also manufacture assemblies with an eccentricity of <5 μm. In any case, each individual fiber cable is checked with a high-precision measuring microscope prior to shipping.

Furthermore, we can equip the fiber end surfaces with an anti-reflection coating to minimize back reflections during input and output coupling.

D80 laser assemblies are mostly used as connecting fibers for diode laser systems. The eccentricity is normally less than 10 µm; however, upon request, we can also guarantee an eccentricity of less than 5 µm by measuring all fibers with precision microscopes when goods are dispatched.

For D80 assemblies, we can also apply AR coatings to the fiber end surface upon request.

Diode-pumped solid-state lasers have a higher efficiency than their lamp-pumped counterparts. Laser diodes in the wavelength range between 808 nm and 980 nm are used for pumping. Pump fibers focus the pump energy on the laser rod.
