Long pass filters with wide transition edges
Glass filters have been proven in practice for over 100 years. During their manufacture, impurities are mixed in as part of a precisely defined melting process. This doping determines the filter characteristics. In addition to high-quality glass from Schott and Hoya, LASER COMPONENTS also offers more cost-effective alternatives.
Compared to interference filters, this type of filter has significantly wider transition edges. This is why they are used wherever steep edges are not required or autofluorescence is not important.
While the filter performance is independent of the angle of incidence, transmission is influenced by surface reflection and a longer optical path.
The standard filters have a square shape with an edge length of 50 mm x 50 mm and a thickness of 1 mm or 2 mm. However, other dimensions are also possible. Doping, geometry and size of the filters can be adapted individually to your specifications.
