GRadient INdex (GRIN) lenses ensure that the light beam is collimated when it exits an optical fiber. For this purpose, a cylindrical lens is spliced onto the fiber, the refractive index of which decreases continuously from the center to the edge. Compared to other collimators, GRIN lenses take up very little space and can be easily integrated into standard connector systems such as FC and SMA. At our production facility in Olching, Germany, we can equip single-mode and multimode fibers with GRIN lenses. The lenses typically have a diameter of 1 mm; other specifications are also available upon request. Together with you, we develop a fiber and lens combination that perfectly suits your application.
