Attend the first English WORKshop at our headquarters in Olching!
Date: November 12-13, 2012
The countdown has started: The public “Call for Papers” runs until July 13, 2012, and we look forward to a large number of participants.
The term WORKshop will be taken very literally. Over half of the 80 possible participants will give a presentation or participate in the accompanying poster session. This is an unusually high percentage; extra hands will, therefore, be provided to convert potential audience listeners to “participants.”
For one, the time allotted for each presentation will be limited to 12 minutes, which will also reduce preparation time. For another, the range of topics was expanded.
Themes. In addition to the conventional topics “Material Aspects” and “Applications” and rubrics that are being established today (i.e., “Infrared MEMS” and “Infrared Fiber Optics, Optical Components, and Emitters,”) a session on “Associated Electronics & Interfaces, Software, and Cooling of Detectors” was added. Improvements in IR detectors are more often thanks to upgraded electronics than actual improvements in the material. In terms of content, this session will be taking place, quite appropriately, at the same time as the electronica trade show in Munich.
Join us! We would especially like to encourage industrial users to make contributions, the relevance of which you, as the author, are convinced. Even if the topic does not seem to apply 100% at first glance to the ones listed above, the advisory board will also consider these contributions.
The very tight presentation schedule goes hand in hand with a lot of freedom for the poster session, discussions with presenters, netWORKing, and an evening program event.
There are definitely reasons to look forward to November, even in springtime!
