High-performance cryogenic detectors for maximum measurement precision
VIGO Photonics’ cooled HgCdTe photoconductor detectors are optimized for wavelengths of 14 µm, 16 µm, and 19 µm. They were specifically developed for FTIR spectroscopy and other demanding measurement applications that require high detectivity in the long-wave infrared range. The performance parameters needed for these applications can often only be achieved through cryogenic cooling, for example using liquid nitrogen at 77 K.
VLWIR detection at the highest level
The detectors are available either as a Dewar assembly or in a flatpack housing, enabling flexible integration into dedicated measurement setups. Depending on the configuration, they cover long-wave spectral ranges extending into the VLWIR region and provide high sensitivity combined with stable noise characteristics. Large active areas, AR-coated windows, and minimized fringing effects ensure precise, reproducible signal processing – even under challenging measurement conditions.
