12X Zoom
The 12X zoom lenses offer the best combination of zoom range and resolution for an optical system. Ideal for high magnification applications that require an optimal balance between optical performance, large zoom range and price, the 12X offers an incredible 12X magnification (0.58-7X), increased resolution of 0.004-0.550 NA, and unmatched flatness and edge-to-edge sharpness.
The body tube of the 12X zoom system contains the main mechanism of the zoom and determines the mechanical nature of your system. The body tubes can be configured with or without zoom. Options include:
Manual Zoom Modules:
are designed to provide flexibility in various imaging applications when an automated system is not required. Manual adjustment of zoom and focus allows the user to change the field of view and restore focus if the size of the sample being imaged changes.
Aperture:
The iris function allows the user to adjust the amount of light passing through the system without changing the intensity of the light source. The aperture can also improve the depth of field when set correctly.
Adjustment detents:
Obtain specific detents throughout the zoom range by selecting a body tube with adjustment detents. Typically used in systems where each position requires calibration, adjustment detents allow predefined detents at 0.58X, 2X, 2.5X, 3X, 3.5X, 4X, 4.5X, 5X, 5.5X, 6X and 6.5X on the zoom scale.
Fine focus:
For applications without a separate moving support system, fine focus tubes provide a 3 mm (coaxial models only) or 12 mm (non-coaxial models) axial distance to the object. Available in manual and motorized versions.
Motorization:
Motorized, automated control of zoom and fine focus is available on request. Precise, reproducible positions can be achieved. Several configurations are available for optimum flexibility.
Coaxial illumination:
Coaxial (axial) illumination is particularly effective for imaging flat specular surfaces. Integration of the coaxial illumination port enables a collimated, diffuse and uniform illumination source to be integrated into a zoom lens.
Polarizer:
Optical device that converts natural or unpolarized light into polarized light by selectively absorbing rays in one direction and passing them perpendicular to the polarizing medium. They are usually made from stretched plastic sheets containing parallel, oriented birefringent crystals.
