LASER COMPONENTS expands portfolio for infrastructure monitoring

GridCop® - The infrastructure monitoring of tomorrow, exclusively from Laser Components

LASER COMPONENTS is now the exclusive sales partner for the innovative, patented GridCop® sensor systems from the Luxembourg-based manufacturer Eolis Medi@ Company GmbH. The general manager, Sven Schreiber and Jean-Philippe Boever signed a corresponding agreement for Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH region).

With versatile monitoring functions, the opto-mechanical GridCop® sensors enable efficient protection of critical infrastructures over distances beyond the 100-kilometer mark. They signal access and other faults such as environmental influences on underground and above-ground elements. These include shafts, bunkers or operating rooms, cabinets, masts and other vertical infrastructures. The sensors can be used on telecom, water and electricity networks as well as on railroad lines, port and airport infrastructures. The purely optical technology works without electricity and can therefore be operated reliably and maintenance-free over long distances and in difficult environments.

“As part of an integrated security and protection concept in accordance with the requirements of the new KRITIS legislation, the monitoring of so-called passive infrastructures plays an essential role,” says Dr. Andreas Hornsteiner, Head of the Fiber Optics division at LASER COMPONENTS Germany. “The GridCop® sensors from Eolis protect against sabotage just as effectively as against climate-related influences. With this product family, we can now offer our customers comprehensive and customized solutions that guarantee safe and trouble-free grid operation even beyond the legal requirements. We have already proven this successfully in recent years with major projects.”

“With this agreement, we are pleased to give our long-standing good cooperation with LASER COMPONENTS a new dynamic and a broader orientation,” says Jean-Philippe Boever, Managing Partner of Eolis Medi@ Co. “In order to assert ourselves so successfully with our GridCop® sensor technology against the trend of "all wireless/all IoT", we need a creative and competent sales partner who is willing to break new ground with our sensor technology in view of the multitude of application areas of both a civilian and military nature. This is in the interest of our customers, but also in the interest of the infrastructures that are vital to us all. We have had this partner at our side for years with LASER COMPONENTS.”
