senSERS - Substrates for Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy

Scalable, reproducible SERS substrates from Ag nanoparticles on robust glass

senSERS are glass-based substrates featuring surface-bound silver nanoparticles, optimized for Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS). Designed for scalable mass production, they ensure high reproducibility and low batch-to-batch variation, while offering a strong price-performance ratio for both research and industrial applications.

Engineered in Germany for sensitivity, stability, and measurement consistency

senSERS substrates are made for Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS). codixx combines over 25 years of expertise in glass and nanoparticle processing with proprietary technology to deliver exceptional performance and durability at an affordable price. Built on a robust glass platform, these substrates are optimized for ease of use. They deliver reliable and highly reproducible results. This makes them suitable for a wide range of analytical applications, such as environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical and biomedical research, or food safety. Engineered for outstanding stability and ultra-sensitive Raman signal enhancement, senSERS substrates ensure strong and consistent signal amplification. This enables the detection of ultra-low analyte concentrations while maintaining full compatibility with standard Raman systems.

Material Architecture and Performance

The senSERS platform consists of a high-purity, optical-grade glass carrier embedded with silver (Ag) nanoparticles on both external surfaces. This morphology creates a dense, uniform distribution of SERS-active hotspots, significantly magnifying the local electromagnetic field. This enables the detection of trace quantities, such as a 10⁻⁶ M (micromolar) Crystal Violet solution. The design supports laser wavelengths from 488 to 785 nm and offers a 4 × 4 mm active area on both sides of the 4 × 4 × 1.2 mm substrate. All substrates are vacuum-sealed, have a shelf life of approximately six months, and support common sampling methods such as drop deposition and immersion, allowing seamless integration into standard laboratory workflows.
