Careers: From Pioneer to General Manager

Long-standing employees such as Jean-François Boucher also shape the success of LASER COMPONENTS at the management level. In combination, their experience and the energy of a new generation of engineers and technicians create a unique innovative energy that allows companies in the Group to flexibly address the needs of our customers with pioneering technology. 

For over two decades, Jean-François has played a decisive role at LASER COMPONENTS Canada. He was one of the pioneers who built our pulsed laser diode (PLD) manufacturing facility near Montreal in 2003. In just three months, the team transformed an empty warehouse into a fully functional production facility including clean room, while a nearby Greek restaurant served as their office. 

Starting as Technical Director in 2003, he was responsible for the development and production of LASER COMPONENTS' entire PLD range, built the supply chain for laser diodes, and was instrumental in the success of these products. His commitment and innovative strength helped make LASER COMPONENTS Canada one of the leading suppliers of pulsed laser diodes. 

In 2023, Boucher took over the position of General Manager at LASER COMPONENTS Canada. During his time as Technical Director, the company introduced innovative technologies such as trenched devices to further enhance product performance. Today, they form the basis for a new generation of LiDAR applications.
