FLEXPOINT® Laser Module with Pulse Control
The FLEXPOINT® MVpulse laser module combines two criteria of machine vision: Bright light with output powers up to 100 mW and class 2 eye safety.
A microcontroller developed at LASER COMPONENTS generates laser pulses with powers that reach four times the possible cw output. Power and spacing of the pulses are always calculated to meet the criteria of the desired safety class over the entire pulse sequence. In most cases this is class 2.
High output powers are necessary in machine vision in order to create a high-contrast image and allow for more detailed processing. However, this bright light only needs to be available when the camera of the MV system takes an image. The electronics of our FLEXPOINT® laser module match acquisition frequency and illumination pulses to each other and enable high output powers without the use of complex protective measures.
Depending on the laser class, the FLEXPOINT® MVpulse delivers output powers of 10 mW to 100 mW at pulse lengths between 15 ms and 0.38 ms. The module is available in wavelengths of 640 nm, 660 nm and 780 nm.
